BREAKING: Ex-Arsenal player dies in auto-crash


It was really a tragic turn of event in the early hours of today which was supposed to be day for football fans around the world to enjoy the Finals of this year European elite club competition as Ex-arsenal player Jose Antonio Reyes has passed away at the age of just 35 years sadly after he was involved in a fatal car accident in Seville this morning, with Sevilla Football Club saying on their Twitter account: 

"We couldn't offer worse news. Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car accident. Rest in peace."

The Spanish international who began his career at his local club Seville where he played 86 times, scoring 21 goals in that time before securing a move to Arsenal in 2004 where he was a part of the infamous Invincibles side and won the FA Cup in 2005. He then went back to spain with a loan spell at Real Madrid, with Reyes scoring 6 goals in 30 appearances for Los Blancos.
He then moved across the city to join rivals Athletico Madrid where he spent 4 years at from 2007-2011, with Reyes playing 103 times for Atleti. He had a brief spell at Benfica on loan before returning to his boyhood club, where he went on to play a further 109 times. He featured briefly for Espanyol before playing for Cordoba, Chinese side Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard and Extremadura, where he was still playing before tragically passing.
Reyes also represented the Spanish senior national team on 21 occasions whilst also playing for Spain at various age grade levels which includes  Under 16s, Under 19s, Under 21s and his region Andalusia.
