Super Eagles release provisional list for Afcon 2019.

The Nigerian Football Federation has released a 25-man list of players selected to represent Nigeria at this year's African Cup of nations to be held in Egypt. Super eagles coach Gernot Rohr's team would begin earnest preparation for the continental competition as they would be battling Guinea, Madagascar and new comers Burundi in group B. The provisional list comprises of some regular faces with surprise exclusion including Trapzonspor midfielder Oganyi Onazi and HJk Helsinki left back Ederson Echejiele as John Obie Mikel is recalled back to the team following successful talks with the German tactician. The 25-man squad includes:

Goalkeepers 


Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Katsina United); Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs, South Africa) and Francis Uzoho (Anorthosis Famagusta, Cyprus).

Defenders


William Ekong (Udinese FC, Italy); Leon Balogun (Brighton & Hove Albion, England); Ola Aina (Torino FC, Italy); Abdullahi Shehu (Bursaspor FC, Turkey); Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes, Spain); Jamilu Collins (SC Padeborn 07,Germany); Chidozie Awaziem (Caykur Rizespor, Turkey).

Midfielders

All players invited will on Sunday, June 2, report at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Asaba  ahead of the friendly on June 8 with Zimbabwe at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba,Delta state before departing to Egypt for their final  training camp in Ismailia where they will take on Senegal in what would be their last pre-Afcon friendly on June 16.
